Why have a sitter session
Quite simply, babies will change the most in their first year than they ever will in their entire lives and you only have one chance to capture this incredible change. This simply sitter session takes place when your little one is sitting confidently unaided which is often between 6 and 10 months old (but every child is different) and is the perfect bridge between their newborn/older baby session and their 1st birthday cake smash.
This age is so perfect to capture because their personalities are really shining bright and once they start crawling they will gradually lose some of their squishy rolls too so this is a really beautiful, simple session to help you remember every detail.
I specialise in sitter photography in Lincolnshire and with the full year’s journey in mind, a sitter session can really help your little one get comfortable in front of the camera before their 1st birthday cake smash. This often means that they relax more for their cake smash and those smiles come a lot more naturally!
What to expect from your sitter session
A sitter session is the perfect time for your little one to take centre stage. No busy backdrops, limited prop usage and timeless outfit choices - all chosen to ensure there are no distractions from your little one and their new skill! This is the session where we keep things super simple!
I use 2 or 3 plain coloured backdrops, which we will discuss beforehand dependent on the chosen outfits, to complement the colours that may have been used in your newborn or older baby session (if you had one) or the place in your home where you will display your child’s portraits. If appropriate, I may use a small number of props in your session such as my newborn bowl, basket or chair but these will not take the focus away from your little one.
Not only will we use my one colour, plain backdrops, the bed in The Cabin will be set for some cosy blanket and cushion images too. We can also include parent and sibling images if desired. It can be quite tiring for little ones to sit unaided so we keep the session short and focus on capturing their beautiful features, smiles and personalities!

Booking your session
Step 1
Use the ‘Book Now’ button to pay for and secure your session - I’ll be in touch shortly after to arrange a date for your session
Step 2
It’s time for your Mama Bear Photography photo shoot. Let’s have some fun and make memories to last a lifetime
Step 3
Within 1 week of your session you will receive your online gallery and choose which collection you wish to purchase
Step 4
Receive your final fully edited images 3 to 4 weeks later. Artwork, prints and albums have their own delivery timescales
